Friend of TVC: Elizabeth (“Liz”) Wiseman is a 2009 Vanderbilt Divinity School graduate. She is now a Board Certified Chaplain at the VA Hospital in Nashville and a licensed attorney. She has 6 children and her animal family, including Teddy-the-Therapy-Dog. Liz finds God on her morning runs and in her garden. She adopted a plant-based diet after learning about animal abuse on factory farms and in slaughterhouses, and advocates for farm animals and all animals whenever she can.
Teddy was a stray looking for food when he came to live with the Wiseman family on a cold night in 2007. He and Liz completed therapy dog training with Therapy ARC, the Middle Tennessee affiliate of Pet Partners, in 2011. They currently volunteer as a therapy team at Mary Queen of Angels Assisted Living, Room in the Inn, and the VA Hospital.
